How Updates Work on Lutefish

We regularly release software updates for the Lutefish Stream to:

  • Add new features

  • Improve performance

  • Increase stability

  • Reduce latency

Keeping your device updated ensures the best possible experience.


Do I Need to Manually Update?

No.

Your Lutefish Stream updates automatically:

  • Shortly after we release a new update

  • Or the next time you power on the device

There is nothing you need to download manually.


Best Practice Before a Session

We recommend:

  • Booting up your Lutefish Stream a few minutes before your session

This gives the device time to:

  • Check for updates

  • Download and install if needed

  • Be fully ready before you start playing


How to Check Your Version

You can check your software version in two places:

In a Session

  1. Click Show Participants in the header bar.

  2. You will see:

    • Your software version

    • The version each participant is running

In Account Settings

  1. Go to Account Settings

  2. Click Device Setup

  3. Your current device version will be displayed there

Being on the same version as others in your session helps ensure compatibility and performance.


If an Update Isn’t Happening

Important:

  • Updates are paused while you are actively in a session.

If you believe you need an update:

  1. Leave the session.

  2. Reboot the device.

  3. Wait a few minutes.

This should trigger the update process.
